I sometimes participate in block swaps. I needed to finish a set while Henrietta was here. They were to be blue/white and a "star". Remember I said I was tired and making many mistakes? First I tried a sample block.
Next--I tried to repeat it----
Okay--try it with different fabrics. Hmmmmm---
This effort definitely had problems!!!
Okay--thery were all supposed to look like this----
They're not hard to make--but you do have to follow directions exactly. They are from a Book called "Stars by Magic". No set-in seams, and all the blocks come in multiple sizes. I'm planning to use the same book for the next round but different fabrics/different star. Wish me luck!!

Star blocks are always attractive in a quilt. I'll have to check out the book.
ReplyDeleteSo, what you are saying is, instead of working on the blocks you've been playing!!?? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI like that first block - and you have done a great job on them all!!!
I love star blocks..... uh oh!!!
Whether it's done right or not, I like that second one.
ReplyDeleteThe variations all look beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou may have been tired, and not making them according to 'the rules' but that first and fourth, are especially GREAT designs!
ReplyDeleteI like number 4 Moroccan Tile
ReplyDeletethey are all neat blocks. It took a minute to figure out how to sew them, it does seem to be pretty easy and no complex seams to figure out.

Weren't you experimenting with that block a while back? Someone was, and remarked about following directions. I thought it was you. Anyway, I like all the blocks, one kind of looks like a great flower block to me. But I can see it would be frustrating if you wanted blocks that are the same. I do like the fabrics in the first sample . . . a lot.
