Sunday Stash Report Week 13

My numbers didn't change, nothing added, nothing finished this week.

6.75 yards In YTD
8.25 yards Out YTD
Stash Decreased by 1.5 yards

Please check how everyone did this week.

On the way out the door I saw these snowflakes on my deck---

At first I thought they were bits of styrofoam, but they melted when I touched them.   I don't remember seeing them as distinct as this before.

Family is keeping me busy this week, one of my sisters had a hip replaced, and my dad has an infection in his leg--he's in the hospital too.  Small town hospital--they are almost across the hall from each other, so visiting is easy!

I did sew this week.  Chain piecing relaxes me.

I wanted to try a Scrappy Trip Around the World, but keep one fabric controlled.  I used the blue in the picture.   I'll take a picture when the blocks are together.  To keep my piecing easy to reach--I use a cardboard box on top of a bucket.  High tech.

I just pick up the box and take it to my ironing board.   My ironing board is the same height as my sewing machine, they are back to back.  My rolling chair twirls around and I press my piecing.

What do you do to make sewing easy on your body?

Good evening, Lori,
I love your high tech set-up...I don't have any new suggestions for you. Right now, our house seems to be in chaos!

Enjoy what's left of your weekend. ~Natalie

there are areas of snow and ice creeping toward us this morning, so right now it's a toss up as to what we will be getting. yesterday was all rain, and very cold rain at that!

i'm also saving up my strips to make a scrappy trip quilt in the future. i just added 65 strips to the pile i have so far. maybe when i get this quilt done i'll work on getting those strips sewn and cut into blocks. looks like you're making good progress on yours.

love your designer snow flakes.

Wow, those are some serious snowflakes!

Like you, I have my ironing board at the same height as my sewing cabinet and to my left. I just pivot to press.

Love your high-tech piecing catcher. I have a small trash can behind the machine to catch the chain piecing.

My ironing board is a few steps from the machine so I have to get up and MOVE every once in a while. I get SO stiff if I sit for too long.

That is one amazing snowflake!!

I use a variation of your high tech set-up..I turn a small trash can upside down and put a plastic tub on top...if I have to walk away, I can just put a lid on the tub and take it with me.

Amazing snowflakes! Don't believe I've ever seen one so distint, either!

That's a great idea, Lori. I love your sewing machine cabinet. I actually *need* to get up from time to time, so I make sure my ironing board is situated to require me to get up to press things. Some days that leaping up and down is my only exercise. Those snowflakes were really something.

Lori, hope sister and dad are all home now. March was a busy month here too, Fred had surgery, disc, stitches out today, back to work in a week. I'm ready for life to get back to normal! Love your piece catcher!!

I do nothing to make it easy on my body....it's dang hard. I need a better chair, better light, cutting table instead of the floor, really. I need HELP. a new house with a sewing room would be a good start!
