Hazardous Job

I didn't know being a domestic goddess was so hazardous.  Last night I was putting away frozen veggies in the big upright freezer downstairs.  A roast fell from the top shelf onto my toe.  If I'd had my cell phone I would have called Ken!  Not that he could have DONE anything--but at least I would have had company.  Today it looks like this---

I'm sure the nail will fall off, and I'm wondering how I will wear shoes.  I'm soaking it and will look for open toe sandals.  I am going to sew on the TATW quilt today--maybe it was fate that I bought "Evelyn" last week---she has a knee control!

Hey Girl, doesn't Ken put notes on the freezer door for you? Mine does ... "Open with Extreme Caution, Frozen Objects Maybe Dangerous To Your Toes" was what I found on both freezer doors when we restocked the beef and pork! Sorry you got hurt, hope it feels better so!!

I broke my big toe getting a pedicure. Why is it alwasy the innocent things that cause us the big injuries?

I feel you pain. I hit the same toe on my foot on a heavy chair's leg twice in a couple months. My nail didn't fall off but I have nerve damage from the first time. And it still swells up from time to time. I have found one pair of flip-flops at TJMaxx by Merrill that helps relieve the numbness and also a pair of Mephisto clogs I owned. Ortho Dr. told me (I was there about knee issue and he checked foot out too
) to wear something that took pressure off of that area of the foot.
