White Christmas

Blowing drifting snow. Lots of it. I'm ready for spring. Christmas celebration was short, the weather was awful. Even though we had less than a mile to drive in town, it was 4 wheel drive--pray you didn't get hung up! We had so much snow in front of our house that work sent a 4 wheel drive to pick up Ken and his night co-workers--and it got stuck and had to be shoveled out. We are supposed to go to Laura Beth's tomorrow, but depending on how things go and road conditions, I'm not sure if we will be able to leave. sigh Here is a picture of the snow heading off my deck--the snow drifted up on my deck, Ken has removed most of it. You go down the steps directly into a snowbank.

We had snow, ice, sleet, rain and then snow again yesterday. Very slippery, good day to stay home. And today when I was outside, I saw that my new "flag" was on the ground so I had to rescue it. I have it hanging on the shower head, thawing out! I quilted this afternoon, and now I am going to work on DFIL's quilt, I have all the double 4-patch units made, now I will make the setting triangle ones for the sides. I have been craving Christmas cookies, but so far haven't made any. A few weeks ago I made this top using up some 9 patches I had, and added some solid squares and some square in a square blocks. I haven't thought of a good name for this quilt, I tried using some more "masculine" colors. It will become a donation quilt when it is done. Hmm, does using leftover blocks count as stashbusting??

Playing Catchup

Its been busy!  Thanksgiving has come and gone, soon it will be Christmas.  We got our vaccinations a couple weeks ago--Covid, RSV, Influena...
