Wednesday Ramblings

It is COLD out today. Did some errands earlier, now I plan to stay home---where it's warm! I have started my grocery list, I stocked up early in December, but even the staples are starting to get low.

I have the binding sewn on Ann's quilt, I just have the hand sewing and the label left. The polka dots make a great binding.

Pat said her New Year's resolution was to try something out of her comfort zone. Hmm--good idea! I have always wanted to try making a disappearing 9 patch--so I did that last night. How do they look??

I think they will make a nice quilt when they are set together--I found the tutorial on Pattilou's Quilts.

It looks great! I love this pattern and make it all the time in different variations just to see how it will change.

Wow, you must be sewing 24/7?! I love the blues. It is sooo cold isn't it. At least the wind isn't blowing!

And it's gonna be cold out tonight and tomorrow too. Can't believe it's supposed to get up to 39 on Sat.

Your disappearing 9-patch looks good. It's fun pattern isn't it? I made my first one this fall. Gave it to DS & DDIL for Christmas.

I really like that blue one too. Is the quilting design a panto or did you free hand it? I can't really tell from the picture.

I like that disappearing nine-patch pattern in a limited palette as you've done. Some people use too many fabrics and it turns out too chaotic to see the pattern. That's going to be a pretty quilt.

Just looked at your little weather girl--BRRRR!!

I am SO glad I'm not a nurse up there!

i love both quilts! the disapearing 9 patch reminds me of chocolate covered cherries. great fabric choices in each of those.

bundle up and stay warm today. looks like a good day for an oven-baked dinner for some extra heat, or a pot of soup on the stove!

Cool! I would like to make a disappearing 9 patch sometime this year too. It's freezing here....-37 degrees. Hope you're staying warm!!!

I love the disappearing 9 patch and that is on my list of must make quilts this year too!! I won't complain about our -24 last night when I see the -37 on the above comment and I know so many people are colder than me. I am thankful for my toasty quilts at night!
