Monday Goals

I'm still enjoying summer.   Yesterday I finished the first set of blocks for the red/white block swap.  No pictures--I've dropped my favorite camera, and I have to read the manual on my backup camera.

This week some of the gates on the spillway opened for the first time since 1997 for flood control.  We had over 4 inches of rain one night.  Some places received much more.  The lake level increased 2 foot overnight.

I had these pictures on my card before I dropped my camera
I always wondered how they decide which gates to open.  I asked, and I haven't enough space here for the answer!!

I saw the pictures in the paper and online news and thought of you.

Things like your dam question always interest me too. But sometimes the people you ask are asked so infrequently that they get overly excited with the answer!

Great photo, sorry about your camera. I hope the learning curve isn't too steep on the back up camera.

We are hiding in the house with the air conditioning running non stop in Atlanta. Heat indexes are above 100 every day. My plants are gasping out there.

North & west of here had 8 inches of rain one night. Lots of bridges & roads washed out. Spencer Dam had spillway gates open that hadn't been opened since some time in the 60's. Before they were opened water was going over the top of the dam. It's been a crazy summer water wise.
