Orange You Glad It's Orange Saturday

September is orange and I love orange!  I pulled all the orange charms I had to use in Easy Hourglass blocks--

This is such an easy pattern!   No diagonal seams, but there will be bias edges.  All you need is a gentle hand and lots of starch before you cut/sew!   Please see what everyone is working on at SoScrappy.

Another picture of Praying Mantis--

And a Katydid--

Doesn't he look like a leaf?

Karla coaxed him to sit on her finger--

He then flew into the tree and disappeared!

Beautiful weather right now, warm during the day but cooling off in the evenings.

I adore katydids! And praying mantis: we had one ride with us for an entire fishing afternoon in our boat a couple of years ago. :-) Pretty hourglass blocks!

I worked with bias edges this week - some cooperated and others gave me fits.

❤️ the critter photos.

I was always fascinated with praying mantis, katydids, and walking sticks - all hard to spot, but fun to watch!
I've had my ups and downs with bias edges. Sometimes just thinking about them makes me twitch...

Bug porn!

If you cut your triangles with the Companion Angle ruler there isn't any bias on the outside of the little blocks.

Thanks for, the katidid. I hear them but have never seen one, no wonder. They sure are, disguised well. Have fun with orange.
